YOUR VIEW OF YOUR MASTER

Mt 25:24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: 25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. Dearly beloved of God, in the parable of the talents, we see how a servant sees his master and the opinion he has about him. How you see your master is how you will relate towards him. In this parable the servant saw his master as a hard man who reaps where he has not sown and this made him to act the way he did by burying the talent the master gave him. Our behaviour shows how we see our master and it is the same way with God. How do you see God? The way you see your man of God is the same way you see God. The way you behave is how you see God. You cannot operate more than you see God. The opinion of the servant about the master is the platform for the relationship of the master to the servant. Do you see God to be a wicked God? Do you see Jesus as your servant or your master? Beloved, how you see a man determines what you can do. Let us compare Matthew and Mark in an instant and see how they both related to Jesus differently. Mt 8:25 And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. 26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. Mr 4:38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? 39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. We realize from this that although Matthew and Mark were present at the same time of this incident Matthew reports differently from Mark. Matthew sees Jesus as his master and is shown in how he approaches him. “Lord save us, we perish”. And when Jesus woke up He taught them of faith and rebuked the seas. However Mark approaches Jesus differently in the same instance due to how he sees Jesus. “carest thou not that we perish?”. And when Jesus woke up he calmed the seas. In the account of Matthew we see an opportunity for Matthew to also calm the seas as Jesus tells them about faith but in Mark there is no such opportunity. How you see God will either create an opportunity to become like Him or it will create a problem. Do you get excited at the things you see your man of God do? Do you get excited when you open your bible or you open your bible because there is a problem you want God to solve for you? The happenings in your life does it reflect you following Jesus or Jesus following you? Shalom, shalom ,shalom.
