IT’S IMPORTANT FOR US TO SEE
“When they had crossed over, Elijah said to Elisha, "What can I do for you, before I am taken away from you?" Elisha answered, "May I receive a double portion of the prophetic spirit that energizes you. Elijah replied, "That's a difficult request! If you see me taken from you, may it be so, but if you don't, it will not happen."…And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw himno more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces [2 Kings 2:9-10, 12 ]”
The word “see” in the Hebrew tongue is also means to discern or have visions. It’s very important that you SEE as a believer especially in this year of transcedental walk in Kingdom Power and Glory. Where there is no vision the people perish. Sight or vision is what will separate you from the rest and delivers you into your purpose and inheritance this year. I pray that your eyes be ‘totally’ opened this year to walk in Kingdom Power and Glory.
The above passage of scripture is more of spiritual than physical… In it we see Elijah challenging Elisha to improve upon his sight or clarity of vision if he was to get the double portion. Elisha had to carry out spiritual exercises to prepare himself lest he would have missed out on the anointing if he wasn’t prepared according to the word of Elijah ["That's a difficult request! If you see me taken from you, may it be so, but if you don't, it will not happen."]. In order words it is what you see that you get. There are wonderful things in His commands. The psalmist knew this a thus prayed
“Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law [Ps 119:18].” Knowledge, wisdom and understanding are some of the attributes of sight. There are some things God desires to reveal to many of his children but because most lack discernment and vision so they miss out. Until your eyes are opened, you will always be in the dark. Authority and dominion cannot be given to people who are blind spiritually.
And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. [2 Kings 6:17]. Until Elisha’s servant’s eyes were opened he was in fear. When you are able to see, you are able to see the glorious things that God has packaged for you and take advantage of them. Vision or seeing with the eyes of your spirit makes you bold, confident and fearless in whatever situation that you find yourself in. Beloved you need to adequately prepare yourself to ‘see’ or improve upon your visions this year. You will not miss out on the packages God has for you this year and I pray that the God of spirits, the ancient of days open your eyes to see so that you’ll not miss out on his plans and purposes, and even more, for your life in Jesus mighty name. Shalom!!!!
